Bu durum zaten do\u011fu\u015fta ba\u015fl\u0131yordu. Bir adam\u0131n erkek \u00e7ocu\u011fu do\u011farsa sevinir, \u015fenlik yapar; k\u0131z \u00e7ocu\u011fu do\u011farsa utan\u0131r ve bir su\u00e7 i\u015flemi\u015f duruma d\u00fc\u015ferdi. Bilhassa a\u015fa\u011f\u0131 tabakalarda kad\u0131n\u0131n kocas\u0131 yan\u0131ndaki de\u011feri, onun m\u00fclkiyetinde olan mallar\u0131n de\u011ferinden fazla de\u011fildi. Cahiliye \u00e7a\u011f\u0131nda Arap erke\u011fi \u00e2det zamanlar\u0131nda bir kad\u0131nla bir odada oturmazd\u0131, onlarla birlikte yiyip i\u00e7mezdi; hatt\u00e2 bazan, \u00e2det g\u00f6ren kad\u0131n muvakkaten evden bile \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131l\u0131rd\u0131.<\/p>\n

Kad\u0131nlar herhangi bir sebeple bo\u015fand\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, bo\u015fand\u0131ktan sonra bazen onlara eziyet olsun diye, onun ba\u015fkas\u0131yla evlenmesine bir m\u00fcddet m\u00e2ni olunurdu. Bunun i\u00e7in kar\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 bo\u015fayan Arap, kad\u0131n\u0131n iddet zaman\u0131 tamamlanaca\u011f\u0131 s\u0131rada onu tekrar al\u0131r ve tekrar bo\u015far, o zaman bir y\u0131l kabul edilen iddet m\u00fcddeti yeniden ba\u015flayaca\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in kad\u0131n gene ba\u015fkas\u0131yla evlenemezdi. Koca bu i\u015fi \u00fc\u00e7 defa tekrar edebilirdi. Kocan\u0131n \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcnden sonra ise kad\u0131nlar tam bir y\u0131l matem tutarlar ve iddete girerlerdi. \u0130sl\u00e2miyet bu iddet m\u00fcddetini d\u00f6rt ay on g\u00fcne indirdi.<\/p>\n

Durumlar\u0131 bu \u015fekilde olmakla beraber bilhassa g\u00f6\u00e7ebe hayat\u0131nda kad\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6devi b\u00fcy\u00fckt\u00fc. \u00c7ad\u0131rda \u00e7ocuklara bakmak, develeri veya davarlar\u0131 sa\u011fmak, hurma lifinden has\u0131r, devet\u00fcy\u00fcnden giyecek ve \u00e7ad\u0131r \u00f6rmek gibi i\u015fler kad\u0131nlara aitti. Bunlardan, ba\u015fka sava\u015f s\u0131ras\u0131nda sava\u015f\u00e7\u0131lara su ta\u015f\u0131mak, \u015fiirler s\u00f6yleyerek onlara cesaret vermek, yaral\u0131lar\u0131 tedavi etmek de kad\u0131nlar\u0131n \u00f6devi idi; fakat b\u00fct\u00fcn bunlar kad\u0131na b\u00fcy\u00fck bir hak kazand\u0131rmazd\u0131.<\/p>\n

Ebu Cehil, Medineli Evs kabilesi m\u00fcmessillerine \u015funlar\u0131 s\u00f6ylemi\u015ftir: \u201cKurey\u015flilerle ittifak yapm\u0131\u015fs\u0131n\u0131z. Cahiliye zaman\u0131nda hay\u0131r i\u015fler yapt\u0131m acaba bunun bana faydas\u0131 var m\u0131?\u201d diye sormu\u015f, Hz. Muhammed(s.a.s) \u201cNe yapt\u0131n?” deyince Sa’saa \u201cbir g\u00fcn devemi kaybetmi\u015f arama\u011fa \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131m. \u00c7\u00f6lde iki \u00e7ad\u0131r g\u00f6rd\u00fcm, birinde b\u00fcy\u00fck bir \u015feyhe rastlad\u0131m. Biz bu \u015feyhle konu\u015furken kar\u0131s\u0131 seslenip, bir k\u0131z \u00e7ocu\u011fu do\u011furdu\u011funu haber verdi. Kocas\u0131 \u201conu yere g\u00f6m\u201d dedi. Ben, aman yapmay\u0131n \u00f6ld\u00fcrmeyin ben onu sat\u0131n, al\u0131r\u0131m dedim. Yavrular\u0131yla iki di\u015fi deve ile bindi\u011fim deveyi verip \u00e7ocu\u011fu kurtard\u0131m. \u0130sl\u00e2miyetin ortaya \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015f\u0131na kadar b\u00f6yle 360 \u00e7ocu\u011fun \u00f6ld\u00fcr\u00fclmesini \u00f6nlemi\u015f oldum; bunlar\u0131n her birini iki\u015fer di\u015fi birer erkek deveye sat\u0131n ald\u0131m\u201d dedi. Resul-\u00fc Ekrem \u201cBu yapt\u0131klar\u0131n iyiliktir, y\u00fcce Allah sana \u0130sl\u00e2m\u0131 nasib etmi\u015f\u201d buyurdu.<\/p>\n

Hz. Peygamber, Medine\u2019ye g\u00f6\u00e7 etmek \u00fczere Medinelilerden, Akabe adl\u0131 yerde biat al\u0131rken di\u011fer baz\u0131 cahiliye \u00e2detlerinin terki yan\u0131nda bu cahiliye adetini terk etmelerine dair de biat alm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. \u0130sl\u00e2m dini bunu \u015fiddetle men etmi\u015ftir. Kur\u2019an-\u0131 Kerimin Tekvir s\u00fbresinin 9. \u00e2yetinde buna i\u015faret edilmektedir.<\/p>\n

Cahiliye \u00e7a\u011f\u0131nda bir baba k\u0131z\u0131n\u0131, onun isteyip istemedi\u011fine, isteyenin \u00e7ok ya\u015fl\u0131 olup olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131na bakmadan istedi\u011fi erke\u011fe verebilirdi. Evlenecek erke\u011fin babas\u0131 veya yak\u0131n akrabas\u0131 k\u0131z\u0131n babas\u0131na gider k\u0131z\u0131n\u0131 isterdi ki bu i\u015fe \u201ch\u0131tbe” denirdi. Uzla\u015f\u0131l\u0131r ve k\u0131z verilirse bir mehr tayin edilir. Bundan sonra evlenme vuku bulurdu. Araplar bir kad\u0131n\u0131 birinci veya ikinci bo\u015fay\u0131\u015ftan sonra tekrar alabilirler fakat \u00fc\u00e7\u00fcnc\u00fc bo\u015fay\u0131\u015ftan sonra bir daha alamazlard\u0131. Cahiliye \u00e7a\u011f\u0131 Araplar\u0131, kendi \u00f6z analar\u0131n\u0131, k\u0131zlar\u0131n\u0131, balalar\u0131n\u0131, teyzelerini nik\u00e2hla alamazlard\u0131. Kur\u2019an-\u0131 Kerim\u2019in Nisa s\u00fbresinin 23. \u00e2yetiyle bu haraml\u0131k \u0130sl\u00e2miyette de teyid edilmi\u015ftir. Bu \u00e2yette \u201cEy m\u00fcmin erkekler! \u015eunlarla nik\u00e2hlanman\u0131z haram k\u0131l\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r: Anneleriniz, k\u0131zlar\u0131n\u0131z, k\u0131zkarde\u015fleriniz, Halalar\u0131n\u0131z, teyzeleriniz, karde\u015f k\u0131zlar\u0131, k\u0131zkarde\u015f k\u0131zlar\u0131, Sizi emziren s\u00fct anneleriniz, s\u00fct k\u0131zkarde\u015fleriniz, Kay\u0131nvalideleriniz, kendileriyle zifafa girdi\u011finiz e\u015flerinizden olup evlerinizde bulunan \u00fcvey k\u0131zlar\u0131n\u0131z. Keza \u00f6z o\u011fullar\u0131n\u0131z\u0131n e\u015fleri ile evlenmeniz ve iki k\u0131zkarde\u015fi nik\u00e2h\u0131n\u0131z alt\u0131nda birle\u015ftirmeniz de haram k\u0131l\u0131nd\u0131. Ancak daha \u00f6nce ge\u00e7en ge\u00e7mi\u015ftir. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc Allah gafur ve rah\u00eemdir (\u00e7ok affedicidir, merhamet ve ihsan\u0131 boldur).<\/strong>.\u2019\u2019 buyrulmu\u015ftur. Bu \u00e2yette de i\u015faret olundu\u011fu \u00fczere ayn\u0131 zamanda iki k\u0131z karde\u015f ile evlenmek, Araplar\u0131n, \u00e2deti idi.<\/p>\n

Bu o\u011ful isterse bu \u00fcvey anas\u0131n\u0131 ba\u015fkas\u0131yla evlendirir ve mehrin kendisine verilmesini \u015fart ko\u015fabilirdi. Hatt\u00e2 \u00f6len kimsenin hayatta kalan o\u011flu k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck ise \u00fcvey anay\u0131, \u00e7ocuk b\u00fcy\u00fcy\u00fcnceye kadar bekletip meseleyi onun halletmesine b\u0131rakabilirlerdi.<\/p>\n

Kurey\u015flilere g\u00f6re velinin o kad\u0131na sahip olmas\u0131 mubah oldu\u011fu halde Evs ve Hazrec kabilelerine g\u00f6re mecbur\u00ee say\u0131l\u0131rd\u0131; fakat kad\u0131n \u00e7abuk davranarak kendi kabilesine ka\u00e7abilirse bu esarete benzer durumdan kurtulabilirdi; varis daha \u00e7abuk davranarak elbisesini \u00fcvey anas\u0131n\u0131n \u00fczerine atma\u011fa muvaffak olursa art\u0131k kad\u0131n ni\u015fanlanm\u0131\u015f say\u0131l\u0131rd\u0131. Bu \u015fekilde \u00fcvey anas\u0131yla evlenen kimseye \u201cdayzen\u201d denirdi.<\/p>\n

Araplarda bir de, aile b\u00fcy\u00fcklerinin muvafakatlar\u0131na l\u00fczum g\u00f6r\u00fclmeksizin muvakkat bir zaman i\u00e7in yap\u0131lan m\u00fct\u2019a nik\u00e2h\u0131 vard\u0131. Bu nik\u00e2ha g\u00f6re kad\u0131n kendi aile toplulu\u011fu i\u00e7inde kal\u0131r, kocas\u0131na bir m\u0131zrakla bir \u00e7ad\u0131r verirdi. Bu suretle erkek kar\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n kabilesinde bulunduk\u00e7a onlar\u0131n halif\u2019i say\u0131l\u0131r, evlilik ba\u011f\u0131 devam etti\u011fi m\u00fcddet\u00e7e koca bu kabile ile birlikte hareket ederdi. Kad\u0131n m\u00fct\u2019aya son vermek istedi\u011fi zaman \u00e7ad\u0131r\u0131n kap\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 \u00d6nce bulundu\u011fu y\u00f6n\u00fcn tersine \u00e7evirir, koca bunu g\u00f6r\u00fcnce kendi kabilesine d\u00f6n\u00fcp giderdi.
